Willoughby Hotel
Set within an 1800's heritage building, The Willoughby Hotel has withstood the test of time to become an iconic north shore landmark. Although retaining many period features, the interior has been renovated and decked out with sophisticated, modern furnishings, making the atmosphere chic and cosy. There is an outdoor deck, which is undercover making it suitable for year round use. Happy hour is on everyday except Saturday, from 5pm-7pm and two for one meals all day on Thursdays will please the budget and the appetite.

Now, this is a pretty cool pub. Okay, it isn’t one of the easiest to get to, particularly if you are stuck with public transport, but it is certainly worth the trip. The have a really cool upstairs area which has been opened to the public, to an extent. You can rent rooms for events, but they are more than happy for you to just go up there and sit in one of the available locations. Also, they have a pretty cool selection of beers available as well, so that is also a bonus where I’m concerned.
Don't bother going to this hotel - the upstart manager will ask you to leave if you are minding your own business and have a loud laugh! We went there with a group of 10 people for an after dinner drink. We had just ordered a round of drinks and were sitting at our table when the manager asked us to leave because my brothers laugh was too loud and it was annoying the 2 people next to us! What a joke - except it's no laughing matter. What is this nanny state coming to when you can't enjoy having a laugh without being kicked out! Your hotel should be ashamed of the way you treated our group last night. Word of mouth on your establishment will be traveling a long way and it won't be good!
Quite a landmark on a corner in North Willoughby. Parking can be tricky but there is some along the side street or even in Victoria Ave, an hour in the day, and untimed at night. Drinks as you would expect, and the food was ok. Nicely restored building. I recently went to a party that a friend hosted upstairs and the food served to us was quite nice.
I came here with a Living Social Group Buy Meal Voucher. The Scotch fillet steak was chewy, tough, & had a large percentage of fat down one side. I'd requested it medium but it arrived red & bloody on the inside & not cooked properly. This wouldn't have been a big issue had the steak been good quality. I was very disappointed as for a $28 steak you'd expect better quality. I've had better $10 steaks. After leaving negative but honest feedback on the experience with Living Social, the Management responded through Living Social Merchant Response apologizing for the meal quality, offering a round of drinks & providing their Willoughby Hotel email for me to follow up the matter. Living Social forwarded this response to me. Anyway, I sent the management a polite email detailing my experience prompted by their suggestion to follow up the matter. I never got a reply. I won't return as I've no desire to gamble on meal quality.
