Mike is a great trainer! I only stopped going as I moved away. He always has answers to your questions and reasons for his methods, unlike some trainers who cultivate an air of mystery to mask their deficiencies. He has real world combat experience and has learnt many different styles. His one on one style is great for those who want to learn wing chun the right way. I highly recommend giving him a go!
My work requires frequent trips from the US to Australia so I needed to find a good Wing Chun teacher close to Newcastle in order to stay on top of my training. I tried three different teachers in the Newcastle area (who unfortunately seemed to know less about the art than I did myself) before finding Mike Stanmore. He's better than any trainer I've had here in my own country. I've been studying Wing Chun for over three years and every time I get back here to the US I'm showing my teacher here more than one new way to go about a move.
