It so happened that I received a gift voucher for a haircut from Neville at Wizard of Oz (previously Hairiko). To me, $50 for a haircut and blow-wave is excessive; I could never afford to return. However, it soon became apparent that the price is appropriate to Neville's talent. He simply knows how to cut hair to make a lady look good; he can tell what sort of haircut will suit each person, and he regards his clients with the trained eye of a genius artist. His banter is eccentric, but friendly and sincere. Furthermore, the service is excellent; there are couches and current magazines for those waiting, and the assistants will wash your hair gently and luxuriously. Flexible opening hours will suit those who have to work, although admittedly, speed does not seem to be a priority. Wizard of Oz is - understandably - a popular place, and you may be waiting a while; my haircut took almost an hour from the time of my appointment. Still, you can't hurry art.
