I often meet a gal pal who lives in this neighbourhood for a few drinks and a quick meal. First, it's a seriously beautiful suburb, the setting of this pub is heavenly, on a tree-lined street. Lots of beautiful people frequent this joint, darling, but people from our of town ( the other side of the bridge ) are welcome. Nice staff, a young professional vibe, not a blue singlet in sight ! Had a most excellent pizza too. Always a winner and probably a good place to take overseas visitors as the suburb is so pretty, park on the street outside, or find a spot in a nearby residential street.
Now this was a pretty cool pub, especially the awesome beer garden (or roof deck) they have on the second floor. I remember the first time I came here I almost missed it but decided to have a quick look upstairs, and didn't come back down until I had finished my beer. In fact the second time I came back the friendly bar staff even made mention of it after she had finished pouring my beer. Once again I went upstairs and didn't come down until I had finished my beer. Anyway, it is a fairly standard pub nothing all that trendy but it is quite a nice pub nonetheless (and the beer garden just adds a lot of character to it, especially since there aren't that many beer gardens around this part of Sydney for some reason). Anyway, it is definitely a place that I would return to if I am back in the area.
