My partner and I recently visited the Woolshed and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We waited patiently in line for a considerable amount of time, only to be abruptly asked to leave without any valid reason provided. What made this situation even more concerning was that we noticed a similar incident occurring with a group of boys ahead of us in line who happened to be of South Asian descent, just like us. It was disheartening to witness such discriminatory behavior based on appearance. Racism is unacceptable and disgusting ??

There was a time when this was the go-to club in Adelaide, however those times have since long gone. Over the time that I have wondered past this place it has gone through numerous transformations from a trendy nightspot to a sleazy pub to its most recent incarnation, being a country and western themed bar (as the name testifies). I have been in here a few times in its latest incarnation, and I must say that it is much better that some of its previous incarnations, however since I am not really big on the country and western theme it hasn't really been that much of a go-to destination for me. Still, it does have a different feel from a lot of the other places on Hindley Street, and while it may not be my favourite pub, the character of the place still makes it stand out. They did have one of those bucking broncos in here, but like its previous incarnations, it is long gone.
The Woolshed is an awesome place for over 30's or any age for that matter. With the choice of multiple dance floors upstairs and downstairs it's great! Downstairs is more relaxed with a country feel and older crowd, even a mechanical bull that anyone can have a go at! Upstairs is more upbeat with club & dance music and heaps of seating. The best part of all is the upstairs balcony allows smoking so you can party without ducking out for ciggies all the time. The only downside is it doesn't really get busy until after midnight but most clubs are the same in town anyway. Great replacement club finally for the good old 'Jules Bar' location.
