I was very annoyed with a lady on checkout today I had put my goods in my own bags and went to put my trolly with some others near the checkout ,she abruptly told me to take it right down the other end of the store. Being disabled I did this which caused me more pain which I could well have done without. she said the trolleys there were security trollys whatever that meant and what the differance was I will ever know. she was rude arrogant and I also heard her mouthing off to others afterwards I would never go back there and as a tourist these places get a lot of buisness from tourist and I will gladly tell people to shop elsewere . with an attitude like hers she should never be dealing with people as her people skills are 0
The sad thing is, alot of the people who work there aren't all locals. And yes they can be rude and arrogant, but obviosly there is not team work or professional development around updating their educational needs for awareness in disability and Aboriginal culture and CUSTOMER care. I have heard and seen racist comments/actions towards the local Aboriginal people. Here's to changing their negative attitudes to respect and customer care :)
Hope you do visit again, as we do have other shops to shops in Katherine :)
This has got to be one of Woolworths worst stores in the NT, the staff are arrogant and rude, they run out of stock frequently, the other day they had no meat. The roast chickens and beef are cooked until they fall apart, most of the time the roasts are dry and burnt. Just because Woolworths is the only big grocery store in Katherine does not mean we should have bad service and products. Darwin is only a couple of hours up the highway so there is no excuse for this type of service, if you can not fix the problem let other big name companies in such as Coles, at least with some competition Woolworths Katherine may clean up their act. All I can say is lucky you get all the unsuspecting grey nomads through the town to keep your store in business.
