Unfortunately, despite its name, there isn't a sign out the front with an exploding Earth, nor is their an alien base hidden in the cellar (I asked), but don't let that put you off because this has seriously become a pretty cool pub. Before my most recent venture here this was what one would term a goth pub because, well, that was the type of people that used to frequent here. However it has changed a lot, especially with the beer garden built out the back with a stage for live bands. There is even a balcony that overlooks the stage where we got a really good view of the stage but was far enough away that we could still talk. Okay, the bands generally play hard rock (which sort of suggests the type of people that frequent the place) but the pub has definitely had a make-over, even if that make over included a wine and cheese afternoon.

Had a great huge schnitzel here once. It was great, hung right over the plate. Not a bad place for a very casual drink or a nice pub meal. I would definitely recommend this. I hear they do a students menu as well for uni students so that is definitely a plus too.
