On Friday afternoon I tried to catch the 109 Tram from South Melbourne and because I have a disability I needed help - first tram driver refused to acknowledge my polite tap on the driver's window and drove off. Waited for next tram and second tram driver responded to my polite tap with extreme aggression and was extremely verbally abusive. Hurt and shocked, I called Yarra Trams - their response was that it was unfortunate the tram driver had behaved that way. Third tram came and I tried to get the driver to help again and this tram driver told me to help myself. I have never ever been treated so horribly. I keep trying to tell myself that there are nice people out there but after this, it's difficult. BEWARE OF YARRA TRAMS STAFF!!!
I love melbourne trams and think you offer an exceptional service!
However - I see people on the trams with their dirty feet on the seats, throwing food wrappers and drink bottles on the floor, swearing and shouting!
I would like to know why I can't take my very well trained, clean & quiet dog on the tram at non peak times on her leash???
She travel on the train and has been trained to be exceptionally well behaved
I would expect to be kicked off the tram if she was barking or upsetting any of the people on the tram - just as these people mis behaving are kicked off!
To travel with a dog in non peak times should be considered??
I would be interested to know the cost of cleaning up after dogs (the assumption is that dogs wee everywhere) vs the cost of cleaning up after the graffiti artists on the train service - which of course allows dogs!!!
Otherwise a great service I would use much more if I could take my dog....!
