Bac Fu Do Kung Fu is a Chinese style of Mixed Martial Art, a blend of several styles that form a cohesive, effective, well rounded combat system.
At Bac Fu Do Kung Fu, we emphasise traditional values, while giving the student a complete and effective self defence system. Our syllabus features striking, kicking, ground fighting, grappling, weapons and tactical skills not often found in a single Martial arts style.
Our Society was established in Canberra in 1969 and is Canberras longest established Chinese Martial Arts organization.
You will be personally taught by Sifu David Crook, a Master Level Instructor with a wealth of experience. Sifu Crook started training in 1963 and is highly regarded within the Martial Arts industry. He is the Senior Vice President of the Australian Kung Fu (Wushu) Federation and has been featured in many articles in Australian and international Martial Arts magazines.
A typical Bac Fu Do Kung Fu lesson starts off with a short warm up.
We then focus on bag and pad work, learning how to develop power and explosiveness in our technique, as well as gaining an aerobic and anaerobic benefit.
We then progress to technique training, in which we learn about body mechanics and effective movement and practice our self defence skills one on one.
We usually finish with street self defence scenarios, to maintain the combat effectiveness expected of all Bac Fu Do Kung Fu practitioners.
