Volunteer Task Force (VTF) has been serving the community since 1970. Its mission is to deliver services that support independence, enhance safety and amenity of people, and to build community through volunteering.
VTF's services are aimed at supporting those who have difficulty with everyday tasks due to frailty or disability. It takes an enablement approach with a focus on providing services with a person and not for or to a person. VTF works in partnership with people and their carers to increase independence and physical and social wellbeing.
To access VTF services clients need to first be assessed by Home and Community Care (HAACS). VTF services include:
Gardening
Assistance with pruning, clearing pathways and other general tasks with a focus on safety and increased independence. It also offers a Water Wise gardening service.
Home maintenance
Tasks such as changing light bulbs, installing smoke alarms, repairing fly screens and fixing leaking taps.
Outdoor Maintenance
Minor work around the home or yard to maintain safety, independence and access such as trimming/moving pot plants, assembling flat-packed raised garden beds, fixing hose pipes/reticulation and tidying up areas of clutter.
Domestic assistance
Assistance with everyday tasks that may be difficult, such as vacuuming, and helping to clean the bathroom and kitchen.
Social Support
Home visits, assistance with shopping, VTF outings and STEP (VTF's exercise and wellbeing classes.
Transport
A subsidised transport service for clients to attend medical appointments and community or social activities.
