I am a qualified Osteopath with a clinic at The Medicine Wheel, Byron Bay. In addition to my Osteopathic training, I am also degree-qualified in Naturopathy and Exercise Science.
I work with patients presenting a wide variety of problems such as musculoskeletal injuries and joint pain and other pain syndromes, headaches, pregnancy pre and post care, breathing disorders, digestive problems, genitourinary complaints, ear/nose/eye/throat problems, and arthritis related pain.
A wide variety of hands on techniques can be used to affect the tissues to relieve, release, and self-regulate themselves toward better states of health. Soft tissue work, manipulations, joint play, oscillations and subtle release work are tailored for a patients needs, as well as diet, lifestyle and exercise advice if needed. Small changes to structure and function can create large effects when it works in harmony with the self-regulating intelligence inherent in all of us.
Treating the structure and function is generally my first approach, but I may also choose to use herbal therapy, homoeopathy or supplemental therapy as an adjunct, or provide you with exercise advice, referrals or homework. With a background in remedial therapy, meditation and Tai Chi instruction, I often use patient visualisation and breathing techniques as a release enhancer during my treatments.
What I love about Osteopathy is the truth that body tissues can spontaneously release themselves in response to distally related bodywork.
