Trained as a Medical Herbalist in the UK and was fortunate enough to be taken on as an apprentice by Third generation Herbalist Arthur Hyde. The Hyde family own and run the oldest Herbal clinics in the UK set up in Leicester in 1898. This gave me a greater insight in to the more traditional means of working with herbs. On his retirement I continued to work and run his busy client base at a Chiropractic Clinic in Grantham. After 5 wonderful years at the clinic a move to Western Australia bought about some major life changes. Naturopathic philosophy is central to the healing arts in WA, which encouraged me to branch out in my own training with Iridology, Acupuncture, Flower Essences and Homeopathy. These tools enhance the individual treatments tailored for clients beyond herbs and nutrition. With my move to WA I became involved in lecturing Western Herbal Medicine at The Australian Institute of Holistic Medicine, allowing me to work directly in training students of the profession. I also had the fortune of joining a fantastic team of practitioners at The Mandurah Natural Therapies Centre, where I worked for five years. The next chapter of my journey takes me in to traditional Shamanic healing techniques and Plant Spirit Medicine. These are the traditional healing methods that are akin to many cultures across the world. This has deepened my connection with the healing gifts of the plants and allowed me to develop a living relationship with the amazing plants of WA (Introduced and Native species). Working with the Spirit of the plant has taken my work to a whole new level with a greater focus on emotional health and Elemental balance. It has and continues to be a very exciting journey. Working on more of a spirit and energy levels with plants and clients has opened up a whole new realm within healing for me.
