Dawn Perryman is an Alpaca Consultant and Seller of garments and products made from alpaca fleece.
Dawn has been in the industry since 1994, breeding and selling both Huacaya and Suri animals. Her knowledge and experience with alpacas allows her to offer advice and assistance to those new to the industry or in need of help.
Dawn started a farm with her 80 alpacas stationed in Gympie, Queensland. Everything involved around breeding a healthy bloodline, getting the best fleece as possible and trying to get a nice colour.
The difference between sheep and alpaca wool is the density of the fleece. The higher density of the alpaca wool makes it softer and it does not give you an itch when wearing it!
After 25 years in the industry she is available as an alpaca consultant to provide advice based on her vast experience, from basic needs to problem solving of common concerns.
Anyone who has purchased animals from Dawn over the years is free to her contact her for advice.
She will show you the difference between facts and myths to let you productively manage your alpacas with confidence. You will receive factual, sensible experience-based information, but also work hands-on to learn the techniques.
The farm on Power Road, Gympie has now been sold, however she has beautiful fleeces both huacaya and suri in a variety of colours, suri rovings, both natural and dyed as well as 100% alpaca yarn natural and dyed and some alpaca handspun variations (to your requirements) or what takes my fancy!
She also has a selection of garments made from alpaca fleece available for sale.
Both commercial and hand made. She can always take orders for personalised garments and accessories. Jumpers, sleeveless vests, cardigans, scarves, fingerless gloves, and reusable string bags. I also have yarn, commercially spawn from Suri Alpacas. Plus Huacaya and Suri raw fleeces, carded fleece suitable spinning and felting.
