Cheyenne Wilderness Retreat Farmstay is perched on the edge of the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park and Wilderness area near Walcha, New South Wales. This is a beautiful part of the Australian bush.
Your hosts, the Blomfield Family, make sure that your farm stay holiday starts the minute you arrive. You can relax in comfortable accommodation with a peaceful garden setting or settle in a hammock in the gazebo right on the edge of the gorge.
They do daily chores which include feeding the chickens, pig and milking the cow as well as collecting the eggs. You can try the eggs for your breakfast!
As they have three kids themselves, there is a sand pit, swings, bikes and trampoline as well as a heap of other toys! For the grownups, there is your own deck overlooking the Gorge whilst you read or just relax and re-charge the batteries.
We have two types of accommodation available. The Garden Cottage is a three bedroom fully self contained cottage that sleeps six, has a full kitchen, dining area and separate sitting room complete with the warmth of a slow combustion wood heater (which is fully enclosed within a child proof frame), and the three bedrooms can sleep a family comfortably. It offers separate laundry and a private deck overlooking the gorge.
The Homestead Wing is our two bedroom fully self contained cottage and provides comfort and privacy for four guests, set in the lovely Homestead gardens. It has a full kitchen and living area along with private bathroom, shared laundry and spacious veranda all around.
