The cottages and loft are furnished with high quality, natural materials with all amenities, including fully equipped kitchens in the cottages. The Retreat has a private courtyard with waterfall, The Loft has a private upstairs balcony with heating and air-conditioning. This accommodation is close to the region's famed Yarra Valley wineries, award winning restaurants (including Mercer's), the Museum of Modern Art at Heide and the Montsalvat Artist's community which has a rich programme of events throughout the year. Close by is the beautiful Yarra River with walking tracks and access to swimming areas at Griffith's Park and Laughing Waters. The garden attached to the Eltham Garden Retreat has been in the Australian Open Garden Scheme since its inception in 1988 and is of great interest to garden designers and those interested in drought resistant planting. The entire garden is at the disposal of guests who may wander at their leisure or sit by the ponds and waterfalls.
