Architecture and design is our passion and we have a passion for design from the small scale details, individual rooms and spaces, the inside and outside of each building we design as well as how our buildings fit into their street, neighbourhood, community and city.
ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE design principles are part of our makeup. Solar passive design, cross ventilation, natural light, use of appropriate construction methods and building materials have been integral to our design process since architecture school.
Making the most of DIFFICULT, NARROW and SLOPING SITES are a challenge we love to take on and we have plenty of experience and success with those types of projects. In fact, we delight in finding the 'hidden gold' of the creative and unexpected solutions uncovered in solving difficult problems.
At Mike Edwards Design we strongly believe in the idea of 'SPIRIT OF PLACE' and that good architecture and design can capture and express the unique and distinctive essence of a particular location. We also believe that what we build and how we build has a social and economic dividend.
