After 25 years of working for others in the hospitality industry, local Bondi boy Chris Matthews has fulfilled his ambition to open his own caf. Max is the nephew of caf owner Chris Mathews who has appropriately called the Caf Max.
Chris always envisioned Bondi Road as a destination for food and wine lovers, and he saw himself and his caf as ambassadors for the Australian lifestyle. Good people, good food, and making every visitor feel apart of the local communities, with Caf Max as the cornerstone.
The food served by Caf Max is all organic. The sugar comes from Organic Mountain, for example, and the local community bakery Iggies supplies the bread. Everything is made fresh on the premises.
The menus is seasonally updated, food prices are reasonable, and Caf Max is ricing of the food is BYO friendly.
Chris Matthews started was a cocktail bartender and worked in that field for over 20 years in three states. Caf Max has a new bar, which features a full selection of classic and international cocktails. They use only the highest quality liquors. Chris is dedicated to the art of mixing drinks. Guests will feel comfortable talking with the old-school style bartenders who make drinking a social event.
Only organic coffees are served at Caf Max. All the barista are friendly and they are also amazing coffee makers. Regardless of who makes your coffee youll leave with the satiated smile of a coffee connoisseur on your face.
