This fabulous little cafe is located in the heart of Gympie, on Mary Street. A large breakfast menu is available, plus all the usual fare, and the staff are happy to cater to any request where possible. They offer a big range of different lunch specialties, which includes their famous gourmet pies. Bryan's pie & peas is legendary as is Irene's quiche, which she bakes daily. There are a wide variety of other hot and cold dishes, plus daily specials and a fresh sandwich bar.

It is the little things that sets The City Cafe and Takeaway apart from the rest. Breakfast served on warmed plates with rashers of bacon and fresh eggs, and toast served in a basket with butter and an assortment of jams. Bagels and sandwiches loaded with plenty of fresh ingredients, handmade cakes, scones and slices. Good quality coffee beans, and the warm friendly smiles and great service is why this cafe is still going strong after 17 years.
They also offer corporate catering for local businesses, conferences and office parties.
The City Cafe & Takeaway was established in 1999, by long-time locals Bryan and Irene Williams, who are both fully qualified Chefs. The duo is known for their beautiful sweet and savoury delights and all food made onsite.
The City Cafe and Takeaway supports the local community and has trained over 50 young students helping them to achieve their Certificate III in Hospitality Operations.
