Oakridge Motel and Caravan Park is set on five acres of shaded ridge, just on the outskirts of the typical Australian outback town of Oakey. It is home to possums, goannas, koalas and many rosellas and lorikeets; all this provides a peaceful country atmosphere. The park has a well-serviced camp kitchen, featuring a gas barbecue, hot plates, microwave and a television. If you would rather eat out, a twenty-minute walk with the dog will take you past the local pool and right into town. You might also be lucky enough to spot the occasional Black Hawk fly over as Oakey is home to the Australian Army Helicopter training base and also The Flypast Museum of Australian Army Flying. It is known as the gateway to the Darling Downs, where there is black soil farming on one side of town and the Bunya Mountain ranges on the other, with several local wineries in the middle, a few of which are thirty minutes down the road from the park.Oakridge Motel and Caravan Park is the perfect place to base yourself as you explore the many things Oakey has to offer.
