A Fridgeridoo is a six can neoprene drink holder with Indigenous Australian designs.
A Fridgeridoo looks like a didgeridoo but keeps your drinks cold.
Fridgeridoos are fun!
The first three Fridgeridoos to be released on the market are designs by internationally recognised Indigenous Artist Susan Leigh Betts, one reflecting the beautiful colours of Australia and the strength of community, another boldly rejoicing in designs of the majestic marsupial Kangaroo, and the third women meeting together.
About the artist:
For many years, Susan worked as a contemporary artist and designer for an Aboriginal design company called Balarinji. While working at Balarinji, Susan designed Qantas Boeing 747 Jet titled Nalanji Dreaming. Other corporate companies Susan worked with while at Balarinji were, Sydney Olympic Committee, Artkitex Australia, ONeill (Japan) etc
She also freelances as an artist/designer, with several government departments and companies.
Her designs grace t-shirts, mugs, fabric panels and many other products which are sold throughout Australia and overseas, as well as local government logos. This has inspired Susan to create her own company name Wanamunda, meaning Sea (Wana) Land (Munda).
Amongst all of this she has conducted numerous workshops in dozens of private and public schools teaching indigenous and non-indigenous students about her culture both past and present. This has provided a great deal of enjoyment for Susan, being able to express the diversity, values of her culture.
