Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy is the application of pressure to trigger points, or hypersensitive areas in the soft tissue, caused by tension within muscle fibres. Often these trigger points result in referred pain in another part of the body. For example, shoulder pain can result in tingling in the fingers or low back pain producing sciatic pain. Locating and releasing these trigger points can reduce or eliminate pain and discomfort.
Sports (Deep Tissue)
Sports massage is specifically tailored to sporting injuries or prevention of injuries. Our therapists can incorporate vigorous massage and stretching to help the body cope with strenuous exercise.
Shiatsu
According to the oriental therapy of shiatsu, good health is maintained by the energy of life, or chi, that flows through the body along channels known as meridians. Pressing firmly on the skin at precise points along the meridians restores its flow and promotes well-being.
