The Oldknow name has been synonymous with earthmoving and haulage throughout the Upper Hunter for 25 years, a brief history:
SH & DA Oldknow Pty Ltd began as a partnership in 1985, when, Steve Oldknow purchased a M.A.N six wheel tipper, for coal haulage in the Foybrook pit. As business increased and contracts were taken with Howick, Newdell and Liddell the fleet expanded to include more and more on road haulage trucks and eventually trucks with bins too big to be registered for road use. These trucks hauled payloads of up to 65 tonnes, with both coal and reject being the freight. Today the requirement for on road type trucks being very limited, SH & DA Oldknow has moved on, with the purchases of truck & dog trailer combinations, articulated trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers and poly welding equipment.
Oldknow Excavations Pty Ltd began in 1998 after the purchase of two Komatsu 22 tonne excavators. Since that time the fleet has grown to include excavators (5T ? 30T), dozers, loaders, water carts, tippers & a grader. OEH has obtained successful relationships with such a large range of clients due to the standard of the work completed no matter what the project.
