Lithgow Counselling & Therapy Service provides counselling for children with the use of sand and play therapy, age appropriate games, books and puzzles are also used. During therapy for children the child is empowered to direct the process of play throughout therapy. Counselling for children is appropriate for things such as a child experiences a trauma e.g. Domestic Violence, sexual assault, being bullied, grief, re-housing into foster or out of home care, adoption and emotional regulation difficulty such as anger and violence.
Counselling for teenagers and adults is also provided for things such as Grief and Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Relationship difficulties, Eating Disorders, Addictions e.g. alcohol or other drugs, Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Assault, Workplace Bullying & Harassment.
Counselling for couples (LBGTI) is provided for things such as infidelity, relationship breakdown, unhappy, illness, parenting.
Counselling for families is also provided for things such as the breakdown or interruption within the family unit that interferes with the usual equilibrium of the family as a unit.
Employee Assistance Programs are provided as well as management consultancy programs that assisting managers to develop educational programs for employees e.g. orientation, appropriate work place behaviours, workplace bullying and harassment, the impacts of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace, adjusting to change, EEO and WHS.
