Play Therapy is an effective evidence based early intervention approach for children aged two to 10 years in overcoming social and emotional difficulties resulting from life events, traumatic experiences or mental health difficulties.
Helen Barrett is a qualified and accredited mental health social worker and play therapist. She adopts a specialised non-directive method of counselling that helps young children communicate, make sense of and heal their troubled feelings, experiences and relationships at their own pace through the use of toys, play, and therapeutic relationship. This highly effective method of treatment is called Child Centered Play Therapy which teaches young children the emotional intelligence skills that they need to thrive and lead fulfilling lives into adulthood. Helen also works with the whole family to strengthen parent-child relationships and improve overall family functioning.
