I have developed theoretical critiques and innovative psychotherapeutic interventions, grounded in my two decades of transcultural research on core aspects of the human condition. My unique approach transcends cultures and enhances the potential of psychotherapy for people in both Western and non-Western cultural settings. My therapy sessions are in person (for local clients) or via Skype video camera (for clients interstate/overseas). I speak English and Chinese.
I am also an award-winning author, educator, sociologist and social research consultant. I hold Bachelor?s and Master?s degrees in sociology from National Taiwan University and a Doctorate in sociology from University of Michigan. I have undertaken specialized training in psychotherapy and couples therapy in Melbourne. I have worked as an academic for the Institute for Social Research at University of Michigan, East-West Centre in Hawaii, University of Tasmania, University of Iowa, and University of Melbourne. I won teaching excellence awards and international best book awards for my East-West comparative research. I have conducted many Government consultancies on topical public policy issues.
I give public lectures and professional development masterclasses/workshops on a range of topics for universities, professional bodies, industry and community organisations in Australia and overseas.
