To know others is wisdom, to know one's self is enlightenment. - Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu
All I care about is to be of service. My work as a practitioner, researcher, and trainer is guided by this principle.
Specifically, be it for clients or professionals, I?m interested in helping people become better versions of themselves.
I?m currently based in Western Australia, banded together with a vibrant team of practitioners called Specialist Psychological Outreach Team (SPOT), at the Henry Street Centre. Located in the heart of Fremantle at the Henry St. Centre, I operate as a psychotherapist and clinical manager. I return to my home country, Singapore to provide consultations and intensive therapy every few months. Every year, I run workshops with Scott Miller in Chicago, helping clinicians from all over the world get better at what they do. I continue to conduct research, trainings, clinical supervision, and write.
Before finding my home with SPOT, I worked as a senior psychologist with the Institute of Mental Health, Woodbridge Hospital and the Early Psychosis Intervention Program (EPIP), Singapore. I provided outpatient and inpatient psychological services, clinical supervision, psychotherapy research, clinical training and workshops.
I am a co-editor and contributing author of a recent book, The Write to Recovery: Personal Stories & Lessons About Recovery From Mental Health Concerns. This book is a heart-felt collective of client?s journey of their struggles and recovery process, interweaved with mental health professionals who were part of the healing process. I am also a senior associate and certified trainer of the International Center for Clinical Excellence (ICCE), which is a world-wide consortium of clinicians, researchers, and educators dedicated to promoting excellence in behavioral health services.
