In clinical practice, Amanda works with individuals, couples and groups in both long and short term counselling. She follows an eclectic approach, drawing from diverse theories including cognitive behavioural, solution focused, client centered, and psychodynamic approaches.
Amanda's special interests and expertise is in couple therapy, grief and loss and sexual dysfunctions. Amanda deals with a variety of issues, from depression, anxiety, stress, trauma and grief to relationship difficulties, seperation, parenting and workplace relations. Other areas of interest are Cyber-safety and education, gender, sexuality and cross-cultural issues.
Eclectic in her approach, Amanda provides her clients with the skills and strategies to overcome hurdles which cause people to feel 'stuck' and unable to move in a positive direction. Through structured sessions with Amanda, you will be versed with the ability to incorporate the lessons into your daily life and proceed in the chosen direction.
Amanda is a Clinical Counsellor and Supervisor and is the State trainer for Prepare-Enrich as well as the state representative for Marriage and Relationships Education Association of Western Australia (MAREAWA).
