St Andrew's is an acute general hospital specialising in numerous clinical services. Our surgical unit specialises in orthopaedic, ENT, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, oral and maxillo-facial. We provide full acute medical services, including cardiac and critical care with twenty four hour Inhouse Medical Officer cover. We also provide an After hours Medical Service, over night, weekends and public holidays to provide after hours support to the general practitioners and our local and regional community.
The hospital provides a complete obstetric service. Our maternity ward has recently undergone a refurbishment of its accommodation and facilities. The unit offers 23 beds in a self contained unit along with 3 birthing suites, a nursery including Level 2 neonatal cots, for babies requiring special care.
Services offered cover antenatal classes for parents leading up to the birth, one-on-one midwifery care during and post labour, along with general education and specialised lactation assistance for new mothers. Our paediatric unit provides specialist medical and surgical care to infants and children, ensuring all family needs are met.
