A/Prof Daevyd Rodda is a globally recognised orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, including the anterior approach for hip surgery and patient-specific, robotic, kinematically aligned knee replacements. As one of the pioneers in these techniques, he performs a high volume of complex procedures annually and serves as a proctor, mentoring surgeons from across Australia. He supervises the only international fellowship on the Sunshine Coast in these advanced techniques, enhancing the skills of both local and international orthopaedic surgeons.
Dr Rodda has spearheaded the Medibank no-gap rapid recovery program, widely implemented across over 20 hospitals in Australia, which has set new standards for joint replacement recovery protocols. His contributions extend into academia through partnerships with the University of the Sunshine Coast, leading to significant advancements in surgical practices and the establishment of a Graduate Certificate Program in Anterior Hip Replacement. Dedicated to healthcare equality, he also founded the Sporting Chance Foundation to support young Indigenous athletes with surgical and rehabilitation services.
