Katherine graduated from medical school in 1999 and have worked in general practice since 2005. During this time she has worked in several clinical settings, learning from mentors, developing skills and gaining experience in general practices in Melbourne, in Adelaide and on Vancouver Island in Canada.
She believes the goal of general practice is to prevent disease where possible, as well as to diagnose and manage illness if it arises. In order to this best, she believes each patient should be considered holistically, considering and balancing the physical, emotional and social needs of each person and of their family. She is proud and feel privileged to work in a multidisciplinary clinic such as HEMAC, where doctors work in close association with allied health providers, incorporating skills to provide holistic care, offering patients a broad range of treatment options, towards the common goal of optimising health and improving function for individuals and their families.
