Directed by ASPAFTV co-founding Director, Amanda Hardwick, Dear John aims to combine performing arts training and real life theatre and film experience in an interdependent entity.
Dear John is the brainchild of â??Two Small Blondes â?? Creative Film Productionâ?? Directors Amanda Hardwick and Renata Einhaus and has taken the form of â??Big Sisterâ?? to The Australian School of Performing Arts Film and Television.
The name, Dear John Film and Theatre Company was inspired by the sentiment in receiving a â??Dear Johnâ?? letter and the subsequent magnitude of mixed and heightened emotions experienced by such unexpected news. In essence, Dear John is all about the â??bigâ?? moments in life which come at us with force and rigour when we least expect it, often yielding life changing effects. Our philosophy at DJFTC is to translate these life experiences, albeit one life changing moment at a time, into interesting, entertaining, relevant, and important stories for the stage and screen.
