Every year in Australia electrical caused deaths and injuries occurr that are attributed to faulty electrical tools, appliances, extension leads and faulty RCDs (safety switches) which can be easily prevented through appliance testing and tagging. Faulty electrical equipment can also cause fires, computer data loss, loss of equipment and stock as well as business disruption.
All Workplaces in Australia are required by government regulations to be able to demonstrate safe systems of work including electrical safety. Portable appliances including power tools, power boards, extension leads and RCD's (safety switch) that are in a hostile environment must be periodically tested and deemed electrically safe.
