At Trugrind Pty Ltd we specialise in 'In situ' Grinding & Machining of Crankshafts and other Shafting on site without removal from the engine or plant. Our engineers are available to travel anywhere at very short notice and aditionally this work can be carried out at sea.
Our equipment enables 'in situ' work on shafts from 3" to 65" dia. and tolerances achieved are often better than originally specified. Several techniques are used which allow repairs to be carried out in the quickest possible time, depending on the size of the shaft, its application, metal removal and available access. These include rotary honing, machining heads used with tool or grinding apparatus, also portable lathes and milling cutters.
Trugrind has been operating for over 40 years on various engine crankshafts used for power generation or marine propulsion, alternator shafts & slip rings, gas & steam turbine shafts, stub shafts, tail shafts, thrust & seal faces, ball mill trunnions and winder shafts in mines.
