We are an independent local group organising a Charity Ball Fundraiser for The Cancer Support Group. The Inspire Ball will be held at the National Gallery of Australia on Friday the 12th of February 2016. Preparation for the event is well underway with a team of local volunteers putting in a lot of hard work engaging the community in the preparation and procuring supplies/services for the event.
This event will raise money for The Cancer Support Group ACT Eden Monaro's Own (CSG). CSG provides financial assistances to Cancer Patients and their families. This assistance takes the form of payment for pharmacy medication and chemotherapy related to cancer treatment, purchase of Dietician prescribed supplement drinks, assistance with some household accounts and food/fuel vouchers. Illness can be a major burden on a family and the loss of an income can put unnecessary pressure/stress on the patients and their families, the aim of The Cancer Support Group is to ease that burden and support local families through what is a very stressful and emotional time.
With over 100,000 people in Australia diagnosed with cancer every year, the support provided by The Cancer Support Group is essential within our community.
We believe this event will be a huge success, therefore we are looking for help to fund the underlying costs for the event, to help raise the most funds for The Cancer Support Group as possible. We will be selling tickets, holding auctions and taking donations on the evening and cutting the costs to create the event will ensure all funds raised will go straight to the charity.
