Antislip Floorcare (ASFC) floor safety checklist considers factors such as lighting, stairs, slopes, deterioration, contamination and slip resistance. When the flooring itself is identified as a hazard, the risk assessment provides detailed evidence about what contributes or could contribute to incidents.
Testing of floors and surfaces in situ can identify a significant number of factors that influence the slip resistance of flooring materials: e.g. cleaning regime, maintenance, contamination, deterioration due to wear, and traffic pattern.
