Local businessmen Nathan Folkes and Jason Saville are launching their very own organic farm in the heart of Byron Bay. Starting in June 2015 and officially opening our doors in September 2015, Byron Bay Harvest aims to bring healthy, organic food right to your door. Compared to some of the fruit and vegetable produce available at Australia's major wholesale outlets, Byron Bay Harvest strives to provide financially affordable organic food with the added ease of it being delivered to you direct.
Farmed locally in Byron Bay, the quality-assured crops cultivated by BBH will also be available to buy at local markets, from our local schools and directly from our website.
The company was founded and completely focused upon being able to provide fresh organic produce to the local people at affordable prices. Jason Saville, the driving force behind this goal, has been involved in farming since the early age of five years old and has always been an active part of his family farm. In his early twenties he then went on to work as a jackaroo in Oberon. Where his passion for fresh produce developed further. Jason then went on to set up an organic farm for a client down in the Blue Mountains, which gave him the push to set up his own organic farm in his hometown of Byron Bay.
Jason says, I've always found the prices of organic produce in supermarkets shockingly high and have finally decided to do something about it in my community. It's all about enlivening our community by relieving our reliance on supermarkets and knowing exactly where our fruit and vegetables come from. I have devolved a passion for organic farming and teaching communities about the benefits and practices around organics. We look forward to bringing some great benefits to the community and beyond through this exciting project.
