With picturesque surrounds and Swan River views, the City of Melville's Heathcote Cultural Precinct is situated on the site of the former Heathcote Mental Reception Home in Applecross and is now a heritage listed public open space.
The Precinct is currently home to a diverse range of cultural experiences, including:
- Heathcote Gallery, which hosts a new contemporary art exhibition every six weeks and has a shop featuring locally designed and handmade goods;
- A museum dedicated to the history of the site;
- Artist studios for a creative community of 13 local artists;
- Workshop spaces for classes run by local creatives;

- BWG Steakhouse, a world class restaurant, and;
- One of the most popular award-winning playgrounds in the metropolitan area.
