The specifications of our Aluminium gutter guard have come about by some rigorous testing. These tests have proven that 3.5mm aperture mesh is to be the optimum size in preventing majority of debris entering the gutter whilst accepting the heaviest of rainfall. Larger 5mm collects all rainfall but also allows excess debris to enter the gutter, and then the finer grade mesh of 1-2mm stops everything entering the gutter including rain water, which then creates a sheet across the mesh, defeating the purpose of gutters.
