Penrith Timber & Hardware (formally Nepean Timber & Hardware) is a family owned and run business, located in the Outer West of Sydney, at the foot of the Blue Mountains. The business has been operating at its present location since 1986.
The blueprint for the business today has incorporated all the lessons learned over many years in the Timber & Hardware business. The store has continued to win over a loyal clientele throughout Sydney, Sydneys West, the Mountains through strong working relationships with our customers.
The company prides itself on its service focus. Deliveries account for a major part of the business, and structured so that even if a product is not stocked, it will be procured from one of our many loyal suppliers, often within a few hours, and sent to our customers in a timely manner.
At present the business has approximately 70% trade and 30% retail customers, with more than half the trade business being done via phone orders and direct deliveries to the customer. This means that a huge part of the company total turnover is dependent on an effective and timely delivery service.
Currently the company operates several vehicles, some with cranes, all of which are controlled via a mobile phone service to ensure an efficient and speedy service.
The store is located on a 4,100m2 plot, facing Batt St Penrith (near Mulgoa Rd), just a couple of minutes from the M4. The store has ample parking and good access for customer pickups.
Penrith Timber has been set up primarily for the trade customer, with a concentration of timber and building material products, so to best serve the trade.
The high standards set by the company are also reflected in the highly trained and professional staff, a number of which have been with the company for a number of years and others who have bought a wealth of experience into the business more recently. The company employs a sales representative to look after the needs of all the loyal customers on site.
