"Trudy McKenna is a psychoanalytically trained Counsellor and a Qualified Member of the Australian Counsellors Association since 2007.
My approach in working with clients is creative and awareness oriented.
My key values as a counsellor are openness and trust, sharing, hope and optimism, as well as growth and autonomy.
As part of my professional training in order to be best equipped in dealing and assisting with those suffering with varying forms of depression, anxiety and distress, - Trudy has undergone many hours of her own personal therapeutic process throughout the years of her professional study and training.
This process of training has given Trudy thorough self knowledge and the skills to work with each client in an objective and empathetic manner, compassionate and attuned to their individual needs.
Trudy has experience with those seeking personal, relationship, anxiety, trauma, depression, children self-esteem counselling and has also worked with those with sexual development challenges, sexual anxiety and those suffering from addictions.
Forced adoption and blended families counselling, for both parents and children.
Trudy has seen a need in assisting the young, and has seeked a valuable means of relating and communicating with children through her professional studies in child centred play therapy.
Goal:- To aid all people who come for therapeutic counselling - to feel accepted and respected firstly by themselves - for this is the basis for others they associate with - to learn to value and respect them and each other.
Quote: ""Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift - that is why it is called 'the present' "".
It is in 'the present' we can work for positive understanding and change.
I look forward to sharing time with you. Trudy McKenna"
