The Black Range Pony Club has been operating since 1978 and is one of twelve clubs in Zone 20, NSW. We hold a gymkhana, a show jump day and often zone events throughout the year. Our canteen operates at every rally and competition day.
Pony Club throughout Australia is a youth movement, which encompasses the following aims and objectives:
To encourage young people to ride and learn a variety of sports and skills connected with horses
To provide instruction on riding and horsemanship and to instil in the members a knowledge of the proper care of their animals
To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline
Our club holds regular rally days, usually the first and third Sunday of each month. Dates are published in our regular newsletter and on our website. Uniform is required at rally days and riders must wear the approved helmet and boots. Uniform is available for purchase at the club.
Rallies consist of various activities including showjumping, dressage, sporting, mounted games, certificate studies, and eventing. Riders are divided into even sized groups and rotated through activities.
The club has a website (www.blackrange.pcansw.org.au) which has the latest news, current calendar of events and other relevant information concerning our club. Members are welcome to submit photos and articles for inclusion by emailing them to the newsletter editor. Other information can be found on our zones website (www.zone20.pcansw.org.au) and on the Pony Club website (www.pcansw.org.au).
Membership is open to riders up to 25 yrs of age. There is an annual membership fee which includes insurance when involved in club activities. There are no additional fees to attend rally days.
