Magnetite Retrofit Double Glazing has a proven record in Australia for its ability to significantly enhance thermal and acoustic insulation of existing windows and doors. Being a retrofitted system (ie. a secondary substructure), it achieves double glazing by conversion, rather than replacement of an existing glass area.
The system is installed on the inside and has an independent subframe that is fitted into or around the adjoining reveal or casement. Secondary glazing panels made from thermally efficient, light-weight and transparent optical grade acrylic panels then attach to this subframe using magnetic attraction. This magnetic seal eliminates air leakage responsible for draughts and transition of noise through cracks commonly found in single glazing.
In our Classic version, the magnetic attachment enables panels to be simply removed for ventilation, cleaning or maintenance. In our other versions; the EasyGlide (for windows) and Sliding (for sliding doors), panels can fluently slide across one another to retain functionality and ease of operation.
Seals are an important extra that assist Magnetite achieve its fantastic performance of up to 60% better thermal efficiency and up to 70% less noise through windows and doors. Magnetite offers a variety of seals for various opening types that restrict draughts, dust and vermin from getting inside.
