Joe Chindarsi began Chindarsi Architects in 2002 whilst operating as a sole practitioner. During the following 13 years the practice has grown steadily and currently employs 6 people. A wide range of professional experience is represented within the practice, the experience of senior staff is complimented by the vitality of work experience students and recent graduates.
A young and vibrant group of designers, all members of staff at Chindarsi Architects share a desire to create beautiful and memorable places. We strive for excellence through value for money, sustainable and innovative design solutions. Our staff combined have experience in projects ranging from master-planning, urban design, single residential, small lot subdivision, education and institutional, health and aged care, multiple residential (ranging from affordable housing through to luxury penthouses), heritage conservation and conversion, commercial, retail, office fit-out, hospitality, transport infrastructure, light industrial, civil and landscape, and civic and public buildings.
At Chindarsi Architects we strive to deliver projects that are environmentally responsible. The Winter Cottage in Bridgetown received the Royal Institute of Architects Award for Ecologically Sustainable Development in 2006. 2014 saw recognition as part of a team which delivered the Foyer Oxford in Leederville, a supported accommodation facility for homeless youth, which was awarded a UDIA Award for Excellence in the Sustainable Urban Development Category.
The key to achieving sustainability is through an integrated approach to design thinking incorporating what is often described as the ?triple bottom line? ? environmental protection, social advancement, and economic prosperity. Through such an approach, both immediate and recurrent benefits result. These range from improvements in efficiency through to the creation of communities with a real and unique sense of place.
