The House
Nestled amongst the gums on the edge of the Candlagan Creek reserve is this rustic cedar cottage. The cottage is quaint and cosy, with ample room to comfortably accommodate four people. It is tucked behind the original beach house, giving you privacy from the road.
The cottage has an open plan kitchen and living area with a loft above. The kitchen has a dishwasher and refrigerator, and is fully kitted out with crockery, cutlery and cookware. Please note there is no microwave oven or freezer.
In the loft living area there is ample seating, a flat screen TV with Austar/Foxtel as well as a collection of DVDs. Free wifi access is provided.Â
The downstairs living area has a wood fire and opens onto the back deck. Here you will find ample outdoor seating and a sun lounge. This is the perfect place to watch the sun set as you cook your dinner on the gas BBQ.
In the loft you will find a deluxe queen sofa bed. There is also a sound system, and a range of CDs to create ambient sound throughout the living area. Doonas and pillows are supplied for all beds. Guests need to bring their own bed-linen, bath towels and tea towels.
You can also take advantage of the small deck on the second floor. Here you can glimpse the glistening ocean and the creek beyond the garden. This open deck is also a lovely spot for a glass of wine after dinner, and the perfect vantage point to watch the stars come out.
The main bedroom is downstairs, adjacent to the living area. It's a peaceful space with a queen bed and robes. It also opens onto the back deck.
The bathroom/laundry is neat and functional. It has a shower above the bath, a frontloading washing machine, vanity basin and toilet. Off-street parking is provided adjacent to the house, but with so much on offer within walking distance, you will hardly need the car.
The small native garden is a relaxing place to unwind or walk beyond the garden to explore the scrub and find your way down to the mangroves on the waters edge.
