My Midwives gives women the chance to experience one on one midwifery care from the moment they are pregnant, until their baby is around six weeks old. At your initial visit, you will meet several midwives, so you can choose the one who you feel suits your needs and personality. That midwife is then your personal midwife, contact, health care provider and counselor throughout your pregnancy birth and beyond.
Your midwife will check on the baby's growth, your health, your baby's heart rate and blood tests. She can order any scans, blood tests and conduct your pregnancy care. Your midwife will assist you to plan throughout your pregnancy for your choices in birth and beyond.
Additionally your midwife can liaise with obstetricians, GP's and hospitals if you want or need medical care during your pregnancy. My Midwives provides the option of having one-on-one midwifery care (continuity of care) from the same midwife through pregnancy, birth and post birth or seeing the same midwife just for pregnancy care..
The additional knowledge that your midwife is on call by phone 24/7 for your queries during pregnancy provides you will an additional level of support most women find invaluable.
We believe every woman has the right to continuity of care, from the moment she discovers she is pregnant, to the time she and her baby are discharged - happy, healthy, confident and content.
