Skittleball Plains Homestead is in Tasmania’s central highlands, home of wild brown and rainbow trout. Tasmania has one of the world’s last great wild fisheries. It’s within two hours drive of Hobart and Launceston.The homestead is set on a sheltered bank five minutes walk from Tailers Shore on Little Pine Lagoon. A track to the lagoon provides vehicle access. The setting is alpine vegetation with a large flat grassy area surrounding the homestead and alpine eucalypt forest on the hills.Inside you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Hot and cold running water, indoor toilet and shower. The kitchen, lounge and dining room are open plan and lead onto a comfortable veranda. There is a refrigerator, crockery, cutlery, gas cook-top, wood fire cook-top, and Weber barbeque cater for cooking needs. There are two bedrooms with beds and bunks for up to six adults. All bedding and towels are provided. For the fly tier, there is a dedicated desk with vice and light. The Great Lake Hotel and shop are 10 minutes drive, and Bronte Park Highland Village 25 minutes. Provisions can be purchased from these locations, and meals are available if you don't feel like cooking.
