Lemonthyme Lodge is a true wilderness retreat near Cradle Mountain, about an hour from Devonport.The central lodge is an authentic log cabin – the largest in the southern hemisphere - it sits about eight kilometres off the road in temperate rainforest. Set high in the treetops around the lodge is tree top cabins and spa cabins. There are also two-bedroom family cabins and luxury wilderness suites, which boast wonderful forest views. Budget accommodation is available in the central lodge. All rates include fully cooked and buffet breakfast. Around the clearing are rainforest eucalypts and tree ferns; wallabies, wombats and possums, come out at dusk to graze in the undergrowth. On cool evenings you can sit around the Lodge’s grand stone fireplace or enjoy a cosy time by the gas wood fires in your private cabin. The restaurant offers excellent meals prepared using the finest Tasmanian produce. After a hearty breakfast you can head out on your own following the walking trails through the rainforest or take a mountain bike ride. Lemonthyme Lodge is a good base for exploring Cradle Valley, the Mole Creek Karst National Park with its extensive caves, or taking in the sites of the north west coast.
