Since the 1960s, Walsh Martial Arts has been Australia's specialist teaching school dedicated to the quality instruction of the techniques, traditions and philosophy of TaeKwonDo and Hapkido.
In this tradition, our Canberra Black Belts Dojang is personally led by Master Rodney Lee Walsh 7th Dan - the ACT's most senior Hapkido and TaeKwonDo instructor and its prime authority on martial arts.
Like its counterpart school in Sydney led by Masters Andrew, Jonathan and Anna Walsh, Canberra Black Belts Dojang is solely focussed on the advanced training of Hapkido and TaeKwonDo Black Belts and Instructors. (Interested beginners and colour belt students should instead visit www.walshtkd.com for their nearest local branch school.)
Our program is unique in Australasia - other schools do not offer this level of dedicated Black Belt-level instruction on a weekly basis. Without this training, even the best black belts quickly stagnate and lose focus. In contrast, WMAA Black Belts - including every single instructor regardless of age or rank - is an active student under their Master (or Grandmaster). All are constantly learning and supporting one another to the next level.
WMAA Black Belts are challenged physically, mentally and spiritually every week. Unsurprisingly, these students advance effectively through the Dan ranks with confidence and skill.
Non-WMAA masters, instructors, and schools are invited to contact Master RL Walsh to express their interest in participating.
