The students of Karate for Kids couldnâ??t believe their luck when the club moved to a new venue near the local shops at West Lindfield. Surrounded by trees and a peaceful park atmosphere the hall buzzes with high energy vibes every Monday afternoon during the karate classes.
The Community Centre where the classes are held is also used by the Lady Game Kindergarten so everything is sized for the smaller students. Sensei Caroline Manly, principal instructor and owner of the Karate for Kids club, said that this is the best hall sheâ??s ever taught in.
â??The kids just love itâ?? she said, â??and the location is absolutely perfect. Sometimes it is quite a challenge to get the kids to leave the outdoor climbing equipment and come in to join the classes. The local community have been very supportive of our move and this is really great to see. We enjoy being part of the community and the kids all want to be more involved.â??
After a recent grading the club now boasts three junior black belt students. Each one takes the training seriously and helps out with the start of the classes. Sensei Caroline believes it is important to give these students some responsibilities as this is part of being a black belt.
