As Glendenning’s first Karate club, we have been operating since 2000 with 6 classes, our most recent class opened Quakers Hill in 2007 as well as a young children’s program aimed at 2 to 6 years called the Tiny Tigers. We have had many state and national champions in different organised tournaments over the years. In 2007 we toped the medal tally at every club tournament. We also run our own successful tournaments, the last one with over 114 competitors. Our club was recently nominated for Sports Team of the year in the Blacktown council sports awards. Glendenning and Quakers Hill’s three instructors are Sensei Marty Bodsworth - 2nd Dan Blackbelt (Training since 1982, teaching since 1991 & instructs Tuesday and Wednesday evenings), Sensei Scott McIntyre - Sho Dan (Blackbelt) and Sensei Amber Farebrother - Sho Dan-ho (Blackbelt) who teaches the Tiny Tigers program. All three are internationally recognised Blackbelts and all of our instructors are senior first aid accredited. Our classes focus on traditional Japanese Karate as well as discipline and respect, our instructors and student attend numerous seminars every year here and in Japan so you can be assured that we are only teaching the correct and latest techniques. Classes start at 6:30pm for beginners and finish at 7:30 pm. An advanced class follows for graded students and runs from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays (Glendenning).
